22 minutes for the inevitable Super Bowl-themed puzzle today. Nifty fill with a few bumps, but over all a good puzzle.
Still on the job hunt – considering several possible avenues for expanding the available possibilities, but things are still pretty quiet.
We ended up with about 2 feet of snow here in Fieldsboro. After hearing from my friends in the near south about the accumulations that they had by about 8:00PM on Friday, I would frequently look out my window before turning in at about 1:00AM to see when things had started – there still wasn’t much on the ground. I thought maybe this one would miss us – but by the next morning, we had a good 18 inches and snow continued to fall for the rest of the day. Mac and Mina, of course, loved every minute of it.
Who do you like in today’s game? I’m thinking good thoughts for the Saints.

17 and half minutes this morning for an interestingly-themed puzzle. Sometimes I wonder if the theme drives the title or if the title drives the theme. You’ll have to read the puzzle yourself to get my drift.
I’m finally working on completing a number of puzzles I’ve had in the works for a while now – hopefully I’ll have publishing announcements here soon. Please pick up the latest Simon and Schuster publications to check out my latest work!
Still on the job hunt, though I’m making good dough playing poker once a week in AC.
The auto-magic update for Wordpress finally worked this morning on my blog, so I expect to be updating alot more often now.

24 minutes for this morning’s very cute NY Times crossword puzzle. Some of the cluing was a bit hackneyed to make the theme fit, but the overall puzzle was quite fun.
Saw “Sherlock Holmes” on Friday, and I’m glad it was a faithful and exciting revisiting of the characters. Got a little pace-y in the middle, but I liked the story and I’m looking forward to the sequel. Now, I’m still on the fence about going to see “Avatar”, as I almost never go to movies just to be visually “dazzled”. I’ve got good recommendations that the story is good to boot, but if I leave the theater feeling like I’ve just seen The Matrix I’m gonna be bent. Perhaps “Nine” instead. . .
So Christmas is behind us, and now preparations are on for the last big New Year’s celebration at Casino Palino. I am anxious to get 2009 behind me and get 2010 rolling with a new gig and a follow-up to my success at last year’s WSOP. We’ll see what happens.

22 minutes this morning for a pretty cool theme, especially if you dig Broadway as much as I do. You can always count on quality in a Liz Gorski puzzle – very little repetition, interesting fill, and neat clues. I like seeing her name at the top of the page on Sunday mornings.
Wednesday was the big charity event at Capitale for Parkinson’s, which by all indications was a big success – very well attended and folks were walking around with lengths of raffle tickets longer than I am tall. Plus, we got to spend some time talking to Annie and Joe, which is always a pleasure. Dawn was far too accommodating as well, sitting by while I played poker in the charity event. I came in. . .I don’t know, 5th or something. . .but my first hand will make an awesome introduction to my memoirs, so I’m going to leave it at that.
I’m concerned that I haven’t yet heard from IBM about the Jeopardy challenge. I feel like a desperate guy after a first date – at what point is it “too soon” to call her back? Maybe I’ll let things go this week and then see what happens.
