John Edward’s techniques have been ripped up and debunked by skeptics for years (including my personal favorites), but Kid Poker may be on to something by applying the “cold reading” approach to picking up on what his opponents may be holding.
Took the advice of fellow gambler DeAnn (thanks, honey) and booked my trip at the Imperial Palace. I didn’t realize that it was a Harrah’s property, and very close to the Harrah’s resort itself, where I could take a shuttle to the Rio and save myself cab fare.
So it looks like I’ll be participating in this year’s World Series of Poker in May. Rather than do something silly like buy-in to the Main Event (for a cool $10,000 and a potential week-long flurry of 12-hour marathon sessions), I’m going to start small for my first WSOP appearance, participating in Event #3: Pot-Limit [...]
