    NY Times Puzzle 2/07, etc.

22 minutes for the inevitable Super Bowl-themed puzzle today.  Nifty fill with a few bumps, but over all a good puzzle.

Still on the job hunt – considering several possible avenues for expanding the available possibilities, but things are still pretty quiet.

We ended up with about 2 feet of snow here in Fieldsboro.  After hearing from my friends in the near south about the accumulations that they had by about 8:00PM on Friday, I would frequently look out my window before turning in at about 1:00AM to see when things had started – there still wasn’t much on the ground.  I thought maybe this one would miss us – but by the next morning, we had a good 18 inches and snow continued to fall for the rest of the day. Mac and Mina, of course, loved every minute of it.

Who do you like in today’s game?  I’m thinking good thoughts for the Saints.

Sunday NY Times puzzle 1/17 & Other Stuff

    Sunday, January 17th, 2010

17 and half minutes this morning for an interestingly-themed puzzle.  Sometimes I wonder if the theme drives the title or if the title drives the theme.  You’ll have to read the puzzle yourself to get my drift.

I’m finally working on completing a number of puzzles I’ve had in the works for a while now – hopefully I’ll have publishing announcements here soon.  Please pick up the latest Simon and Schuster publications to check out my latest work!

Still on the job hunt, though I’m making good dough playing poker once a week in AC.

The auto-magic update for Wordpress finally worked this morning on my blog, so I expect to be updating alot more often now.

    Sunday Times Puzzle 11/1, etc.

    Sunday, November 1st, 2009

21 minutes this morning.  Nifty generic theme – I was hoping for something a bit more Day of the Dead oriented, but I’ll take what I can get.

I finally got my PC laptop back from repair at HP, which means I can start working on my own puzzles again at long last.  I owe a few people some personalized stuff; I promise I’ll get them back on track and finished as soon as I can.

Poker’s been streaky for me lately – I need to get back on a regular routine with my game.  Hoping to build up some momentum leading into the WSOP Circuit events at Harrah’s in AC next month.  Need to get there on an upswing psychologically, I think.  It helped in Vegas last year.

    Can’t believe it’s almost Christmas. . .

Sunday NY Times puzzle 10/4 & General stuff

    Sunday, October 4th, 2009

20 minutes for the puzzle.  It was a neat and simple theme that took me far too long to get.  There seemed to be some response repetition as well (GREWON/WARMTO), but I’m probably just nitpicking.

Rehearsal for the debut of The Corsettes went very well yesterday, as lighting and sound cues are now worked in and everything is very much ready for the opening night show next Saturday.  You’ve all made your reservations, right?

Today is grocery shopping, cooking, and cleaning the house.  Yay for me.
