Took the advice of fellow gambler DeAnn (thanks, honey) and booked my trip at the Imperial Palace. I didn’t realize that it was a Harrah’s property, and very close to the Harrah’s resort itself, where I could take a shuttle to the Rio and save myself cab fare.
I arrive the day before the event begins, and depart the day after it ends. Booking for the event itself begins later this month. . .I want to sign up early, just in case.
Who’s coming with me to cheer me on to victory?!?!?

It’s official. . .Dawn’s mom and sister will be visiting for her birthday over the first weekend in February. Me? I’ll be hiding down in AC, at least for one day, so the three of them (and lots of you, I assume) can go create havoc.

While I already miss London terribly, it is good to be home. Quick few bullets to sum up:
I’d forgotten how much I love Indian food
David Tennant’s understudy kicked ass
The quality of our hotel is down from previous visits -we’ll probably stay elsewhere on future trips
Lots and lots of walking, but at least the weather was good
Pub food rocks
BBC news will always be more accurate and realistic than anything else
The only shopping mall I’ve seen in the UK has been given our “Jersey Stamp of Approval”
I’ll probably go into detail on other stuff later. Hope everyone had a good kickoff to 2009 while we were gone.
